About Primary Tutors Scotland

Primary Tutors Scotland was set up in 2021 by Petra Baillie. Every tutor is a qualified and experienced primary teacher with a passion for helping children reach their highest potential!

Our online 1 to 1 sessions provide a fun and engaging learning experience which aims to build confidence and improve literacy and numeracy skills. All sessions are interactive allowing the pupils to be actively involved in their learning all from the comfort of their own home! 

After an initial assessment, we identify the areas of support for the individual pupil and create a programme of work specific to their needs. After each session, parents will receive updates on their child's progress.

Petra Baillie


I have been working with children for over 10 years and teaching and tutoring for 6 years. I believe in the power of confidence and love to see that "lightbulb moment." I believe in creating a welcoming and positive space for children to learn and succeed.

Rachel Ennis


I have been working with children for over 7 years and teaching for 6 years. I believe in making learning fun and engaging using topics and tools that children enjoy, particularly within STEM where I was part of an education Scotland nominated team for STEM excellence.


Laura MacDonald


Hello! My name is Laura. I have been a primary school teacher for 9 years. I am passionate about learning and teaching. I strive to provide my learners with fun and engaging activities that will allow them to reach their fullest potential, ensuring I cater to their own unique learning styles.


Kirsty Faulds


Hi, I'm Kirsty and I have been teaching for over 12 years, mostly in Scotland but also in the UAE. I believe in a nurturing approach to teaching, treating pupils as individuals and aim to make learning a fun and positive experience with engaging activities to support them achieve their full potential.


Bryony FitzGerald


Hello! I'm Bryony. I'm a motivated, professional and vibrant teacher who embraces the individuality of each and every child. All learners that I have the pleasure of teaching are encouraged to be happy and fulfilled with their personal achievements. Nikki Bell


My name is Nikki and I have experience working with children for 5 years and teaching for 3 years. I gained life experience working within the banking sector before transferring my skills to teaching. I believe in creating a safe, nurturing learning environment to enrich children’s experiences developing the skills required for life, learning and work.

Sharon De Silva

Rachel McLaren


Hello, my name's Rachel and I have just started my 9th year in teaching. I have volunteered and worked with children for 14 years and enjoy seeing them grow in confidence. I have a wealth of experience teaching second level as well as children with a range of addition support needs such as dyslexia, ADD and autism.

Hello! My name is Emma, and I am a newly qualified Primary teacher. I have taught in main stream schools through my university placements, and am moving into my probation year in August. I believe in creating an engaging and positive environment to support children in their learning and development. I aim to provide a fun and meaningful learning experience, and empower children in their achievements.


Melanie Williams


Hi My name is Mel and I have been teaching for 26 years. I have taught in mainstream schools and also have experience of supporting and teaching children who struggle with confidence and self-esteem. I am passionate about supporting children to achieve their fullest potential in a friendly, supportive environment. Mel has trained and taught in England but teaches the Scottish curriculum when tutoring.

Jaye McKeown


Hello, I’m Jaye and I have worked in a teaching capacity for over 5 years. I am currently completing a postgraduate degree in Primary Education and working in main stream schools. I’ve had the opportunity to work with so many wonderful children over the years and watch them progress and develop personally and academically. It’s my ambition to help children always achieve their full potential in fun, engaging and meaningful ways!
